Minor update found here: ps3.ign.com/articles/891/891429p1.htmlTaker has the gogoplata. I will enjoy making people submit to it. Having that in is reason enough to rearange the room so I can connect the ps3 to my comp. Signature moves ae different than finishers, Orton has his stomp, he also only has a ground RKO.

Live from E3: WWE Smackdown vs Raw Impressions Posted by Locke Webster on 07/16 at 08:54 PM Oh wow! It’s been another year and like all major sports franchises, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw is presenting us with their 2009 entry. I’m sorry, did I say sports? I meant the height of Sports Action Entertainment! Isn’t that how Vince McMahon refers to it? THQ has been at the helm of the Smackdown vs. Raw franchise for ten years now, and its readily apparent that every advancement they make is hit with a fan response that sends them back to the drawing board. In the past, Smackdown vs. Raw made waves with it’s Create-A-Superstar feature. The internet is packed with how-tos that’ll build you anyone from Ronald McDonald, to Captain Falcon, to Linda Blair from the Exorcist. The obsessive fan-base for this one feature alone pales in comparison to something like Spore’s Creature Creator, but hey, we’re talking about a niche market that has gone stir crazy over recreating the Brady Bunch to take up against the Patridge Family. I mean, that’s Celebrity Death Match material. Unfortunately, little Bobby Brady has always been stuck pulling off Kane’s Chokeslam instead of that signature crotch punch you had in mind. Well, Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 isn’t going to hold you back any longer. This year, creating a superstar will be a fully-fledged experience. You’ll create your Superstar, put together their entrance, and even create a finishing move from a set of over 500 animations. Chances are, if there’s something you want your character to pull off that you can’t find in the animation list, it isn’t anything remotely like wrestling. Building a finisher is a lot like playing around with the video editing feature in skate. The analogy is flawless, I swear. The finisher, like skate. videos, can only be up to a certain time length. Within that time period, you can line up any number of finisher animations and adjust their speed accordingly to make each section of the animation slower or faster. So you can put in a series of quickly pulled off maneuvers, or really slow down that Piledriver that followed a snappy kick to the gut. The choice is yours. Now if that feature alone doesn’t sell a copy to every owner of the franchise ever, then I don’t know what will. But after listening to fans, the gang at THQ has added a number of features to keep the game as fresh as possible. First off, playing with a buddy will take on new heights as they’ve included a co-op tag-team storyline. The whole tag-team experience has been retooled to keep both players invested in the fight, despite whoever is currently the legal man in the ring. For one, both players share the same health bar, so the strength of the team is relative to both your skills, not the one guy who tears up every round. And if your partner is hogging the ring, you can now steal a blind tag and get yourself into the match. Of course, tagging is the way to go, otherwise you won’t be able to pull off any of the huge Team Finishers. The only new match type in SvR 2009 is the intently sought after Inferno Match. Oh yes, two wrestlers battle it out in a ring of flames. The more damage done and heavy slams to the ground, the higher the flames rise until they’re strong enough to burn your opponent. Finish the match by dragging your opponent into the fire and giving them a nice and crispy burn across their face. It’s the Height in Sports Action Entertainment (Sorry, I love saying that). New features aside, the entire SvR package has been given its yearly face-lift. The game now has all three commentator teams from the WWE with more lines of dialog than ever before. Those horrible loading screens before matches have been decreased by over 60 percent. Of course, the game is looking just as gorgeous as ever. Likenesses to all of the franchise’s superstars are recreated, dare I say, perfectly (uncanny valley notwithstanding). We’ve always known that Smackdown vs Raw has some of the best visuals out there, so it should come as no surprise to see them return looking as good as ever. WWE Smackdown vs. Raw has just about everything going for it. While the devs haven’t been able to mention any of the names featured in the game yet, fans are surely going to get what they want. After all, if your favorite wrestler isn’t in there, you can make him yourself. With a shirt. That says “Locke is my best friend”. Thanks Ultimate Warrior, I feel the same way. WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 is set for release this holiday season on a boatload of systems: 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, DS, & PC. gamesblog.ugo.com/index.php/gamesblog/more/live_from_e3_wwe_smackdown_vs_raw_impressions

After taking some time off, the Backstage Brawl is back in WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009. This year, there are actually two environments to brawl in -- the gorilla position and the locker room. Aside from the concrete floor and dumpsters you can see in the screens below, THQ says the gorilla position -- the area directly behind the entrance to the stage -- is going to have a stock of weapons including a table, ladder, trash can, fire extinguisher, ring bell, and barbed wire 2x4. Meanwhile, you'll be able to interact with environmental objects such as metal doors, equipment containers, oil drums, trash dumpsters, trash bins, wooden table, and a TV Monitor. Over on the never-before-seen locker room side, you're going to have some more implements of destruction to maim your opponents with. Weapons include a steel chair, crutches, Singapore cane, dumbbell and a guitar. You'll also be able to toss your foe into the lockers, big screen TV, potted plant, and a dry erase board. ps3.ign.com/articles/905/905862p1.htmlTag Team Matches Since WrestleMania, THQ's big selling point for WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 has been the brand new tag team match. We know that there are going to be hot tags, double team moves, clever AI, and double team finishers, but other than my hands-on, we haven't seen much of the match mechanics. Thankfully, that ends with the video above. Aside from watching Batista and Cena stomp mud holes in their competition, you probably noticed a few of the abilities for the illegal man on the apron. Once just a bystander, the illegal guy can now walk freely, strike, grapple, distract the ref, perform the forced tag, and pull the rope down as an opponent gets whipped to the ropes. What other news can we suck from this video? Well, the crowd was chanting Batista's name, the ref didn't sound like a country bumpkin, and numbers never popped up on screen for the pinfall. ps3.ign.com/articles/902/902428p1.html

Kelly Kelly and Candice? /sigh, they're snubbing Victoria for the lame models, again..... I thought Victoria was in this game? Going by the rule of 3s which seems to work with EA sports titles. 2009 should be good after the less than stellar 2007&8

he hasn't been revealed yet...I hear the t-800 from T1 is in as is the T-800 from T2 as hidden caw characters. They also have TX and T-1000. I'd say 4 out of 5 good characters is good, don't see wht T1's Terminator needs to be in it though...you know someone will bitch about wasted space like they did for three hogans, four foley's two takers and two Kanes.

lol! you mean like Draven bitches and moans about not having three Bret Harts? man one Bret Hart is more than enough and he would do enough bitching and moaning for everyone. It's not that Canada won't forget, it's that Bret won't let them forget. If that was a shop zone t-shirt I would so buy it too

I guess being my thread I should add my thoughts on the roster thus far:
The Men Santino Marella: Might have to try him out first to see if I like his moveset Finlay: seems more promising than last year Shelton Benjamin: He’s been rather crappy in the games; hopefully they do him right this time. Kofi Kingston: not entirely interested, but he could be fun to use. Mark Henry: he actually was fun to use in 08. John Cena: meh Triple H: He’s ok to use. Undertaker: his moveset has been an abomination for a while, but not too bad and still fun to use. Chris Jericho: was always fun to use. CM Punk: crappy last game, but could be cool this time around. Rey Mysterio: He annoys me to no end now, seriously, I used to think he was awesome, now I want to punch him in the face. Batista: usually decent but meh. Umaga: Oh hell yeah! Cryme Tyme: didn’t like them last game Kane: He started off perfect in the games, than they started to butcher his moveset and gave him a tombstone piledriver he never used… he seems to have been fixed though… The Great Khali: great for royal rumbles Tommy Dreamer: didn’t use, probably won’t now either. Trevor Murdoch: see dreamer Lance Cade: see Dreamer MVP: Better moveset this time around so I may use him Chuck Palumbo: see Dreamer Big Daddy V: maybe once…if I can use him against Christine even better, lmao! Carlito: depends on the moveset Big Show: will use William Regal: never really liked his moveset, but I will try himout. Chavo Guerrero: never really liked using him, but since he has been using more of Eddie’s moves then I may. Cody Rhodes: meh Hardcore Holly: meh Kendrick and London: jobbers JBL: meh The Miz and Morrison: Nitro, Miz is going to be the jobber. Jesse and Festus: they seem like they were made well so I may use them as a team The Hardys: Maybe, both members have interested me on tv.
The Divas Beth Phoenix: Should be fun using her the few times I use the divas…fighting the men should be a decent challenge. Kelly Kelly: She isn’t McCool bad/annoying but meh… Candice: was lame last game Mickie James: wrong finishers kind of killed it for me last year, but this year seems decent. Melina: horrible last game, hoping for an improvement. Victoria: finally back…she used to be fun Maria: She’s my maria, but not in the game if she sucks Michelle McCool: jobber
