Considah dis a remake.
Columbia Pictures is working with Original Films on an updated version of the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger psychological action film "Total Recall," according to The Hollywood Reporter. The original was an action-heavy revision of Philip K. Dick's 1966 short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale," in which the main character tries to have a virtual vacation implanted in his brain, learns he's a spy whose memories have already been altered and has a series of adventures that may or may not be real.
The Schwarzenegger movie kept the same basic plot, ramped up the action and, surprisingly, retained the mystery as to whether the hero was experiencing reality or a virtual fiction. www.zap2it.com/movies/news/zap-total-recall-gets-recall,0,5980319.story

The answer was no he wasn't dreaming. If he was dreaming everything would be from his POV and we wouldn't have scenes in the movie that didn't feature Arnie.
Whatever happened to the 5 Conan movies they were supposed to make

I'd love to see this as a remake.
