I was in Dubbo today and stopped in to EB to see what "bargins" they had and the PS3 has no space in there either. The second hand PS2 wall has triple the room and the PS3 games I found where all on clearance. xbox on the other hand took up half the store. EB always had everything xbox, even when it was PS2 vs Xbox they had mostly xbox stuff... it's still pissing me off that I can't remember the store that had mstly psp and pc games!

I've also noticed Nintendo DS has a massive presence in most stores.

Seriously, they need to drop the prices
By now the fully stocked 80 gig like mine should be around 299. I think the other one is 160 should be like 100 more... or at least add more controllers or a multi tap to it.
a free router would be nice... I'd gladly sell mine for the same version with a free router!

I thought they played every blu-ray... even if they don't I'm sure they can hve some sort of update for it.
What irks me is that it doesn't play dvds. it should play both!
It's the primary reason my ps2 is still out, LMAo.

Well if it played EVERY blu ray disc I doubt JB would be silly enough to go around sticking stickers on only SOME of the blu ray range. No idea who 'JB' are, but I know theres been Blu-Rays that haven't worked on my dads Blu-Ray player that have worked absolutely fine on my PS3. Haven't encountered one that hasn't worked. Isn't the ps3 region free?

Isn't the ps3 region free? JB Hi-Fi, obviously they haven't franchised in your area. Might just be teething problems then. Heck first gen PSX games weren't guaranteed to work in the PSX. it wouldnt surprise me if some of the newer ps3's don't allow you to play all regions of Blu-Rays, I mean, they took out the ability to play ps2 games in some of the newer versions. Obviously so they can eventually make people download their fav. ps2 games form the ps store sometime in the future . Luckily mine still plays them! (Although to be fair, the only PS2 game I still play is Blood Money)

None of the PS3s back play anymore. My Aunty went and brought a PS3 and then they tried playing there PS2 games on it and they wernt compatible so they packed it up and sold it then brought an xbox which is where the real value is.
Plus the blueray disc detiriate the eye of the console just like those old purple back discs on PS2 did.

Blu Ray is is heading the way of the PS3. They charge a shitload for the blu ray players and they charge double the price of a normal dvd for there movies. Plus with the amount of people that own dvd's dvd players and dvd burners are gonna be hard to persuade into switching over and starting there collections from scratch just so the picture is slightly better.

Blu ray is fighting a losing battle in Oz simply because a few vocal groups prevent the upgrade of technology so we still have our stone age TVs as the default standard. Not having a HD TV means there is no reason to get blu ray. Heck even my uber flatscreen can't handle 1080i or 1080p which ever one of those is the higher setting. Its probably different in the US where the sizable population can create the consumer demand to just push these things through. I dont see the need for Blu Ray I watch normal dvds on my HD tv and the quality is just as good as what the blu ray is on there. So there is no need for it.

There is a difference it just doesn't justify the expense. I can honestly not tell the difference between a blu ray and a normal dvd of a full hi def tv.

they make new blu-ray movies all the time. didn't that hd dvd stuff get killed after a few months? Blu-ray isn't going anywhere unless the economy really goes to shit instead of being just bad. If it fairs well until the bad times are over it will be fine, eventually everyone will be upgraded.... hell I was still using my vcr when the talk of PS3s, blu-rays and all this crap was starting.
Everything now is becoming high definition, that will save the Blu-ray and the PS3 because Blu-ray players are still expensive as hell as well and with a $100 more you can get a system that plays movies, music, has ethernet, and can play 3 generations of games.
so in other words if blu-ray dies, then there will be no more ps3.... lol

dvd will definitely be around for the next ten years or so. just look at cassettes and cds. That will be the same as DVDs and Blu-Ray.
you keep bringing that up about Australia's Internet service... is that true? lol!

Yes, yes it is. we rank something like 28th in the world in terms of net speed. Cassettes were around for a long time because as late as the mid 90s blank CDs cost $15. so I made a good analogy... lol

Rudd said alot of things, maybe if he spent some time in the country he could get it sorted He is the PM now so he has no obligation to be in the country he is ruling.

He is the PM now so he has no obligation to be in the country he is ruling. Well it wouldn't be quite so bad had he not spent so much time bitching about Howard's overseas trips. This is Gillard's country anyway Rudd is just the poster boy She's more of a man then him anyway.

This Nintendo wii decoy has worked perfectly!
The xbox has not been touched once this whole week and someone is playing the wii everytime I walk past it. The game count for the wii is up to 6 so I'm also gaining new games.
