Not necessarily the best, but the ones that were the most fun/bring back good memories.
I got a SEGA Mega Drive when I was 4 or 5 years old and I played Streets of Rage 2 nonstop for like 2 years, I also loved Sonic 1 & 2 and Shinobi.
Then when I was about 9 or 10 I got the PS1, Twisted Metal 2 and Die Hard: Trilogy are still my 2 favorite games of all time.
I never had a Nintendo 64, but there was a time when a bunch of us would always play Goldeneye in one of our friends' houses every morning before going to school, that game was also awesome.

Crash Team Racing I think is the only Mario Kart rip off that I liked and thats even including the Mario Kart sequels

Tron was my first favorite, followed by Ms. Pacman and Donkey Kong. When we get the NES it was Bubble bobble, Castlevania, all the Super Mario brothers, Paper Boy and Metroid.

I liked mostly wrestling games when I was younger. WCW/nWo Thunder and Smackdown 2: Know Your Role were my favorite, and I still play them every now and again. I think I might take WCW for a spin when I get back from class today.
I'm also a fan of Pokemon games, especially the Gold & Silver versions on Gameboy color. Good times. I still play those, too. Other than that... nothing out of the ordinary: Sonic, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot (which are all ideally the same, anyway), Gran Turismo, etc.

I forgot to add Rayman. That might have been the most simple yet addictive game I ever played.

That game is just too good not to have. The Pokemon games I have to be careful with. I'll cut them on with the intention of just raising my Pokemon a few levels and then five hours later its like "Must. Not. Stop." Gotta catch 'em all, right?

My pokemon would totally beat yours. I have Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, Mew, Pikachu and Eevee... okay, Eevee's kind of useless, but its cute as hell.

Did the same thing with Mew. He would slaughter all of yours. I would just use the rest to take out Mew Two. I would even let Eevee have the KO blow with a quick attack just to add insult to injury.

I forgot to add Rayman. That might have been the most simple yet addictive game I ever played. That was fun. I did end up accidentally breaking the cartridge for Rayman 2, though. You'd think they'd survive a toss at the wall better.

Smackdown 2 is quiet possibly the worst of the smackdown series and the career mode was most definatley the worst of the series.

All Sony controllers suck in that regard but this one took it to a whole new level.
