First episode was fun. The girl with the flower in her hair was cute and really good, and Madonna girl and the Mercy woman at the end were both fun.
Wasn't feeling the autotuned mic though. :[

And I'm so glad "Mercy" woman wasn't a sob story like it felt when they were building up to her. |

I didn't watch this, but it was pretty disturbing the way it was being hyped up today in the media with the whole Cheryl Cole falling ill on set thing. Yes! Let's all watch someone on TV displaying the symptoms of a life-threatening illness! Near death experience = ratings!
Was it as bad and as exploitative as the newspapers were making it sound like it was going to be?

Lol, she actually collapsed during a photoshoot. They're showing 'Next time on X Factor...' clips of what looks like her fainting, when in reality she's taking a nap. So basically they're going to be hyping this for weeks, and when the time comes they're not even going to show her pass out.
I'll miss Dannii more anyways.

The boys are far and away the best category. Matt, Nicolo and Aidan were all great last night, and the others were solid (bar the Northern Irish one...heh).
Gamu is the best singer in the competition, and it'll be criminal if she's not through. Some of the girls who weren't featured as much were strong as well, and TreyC was really good. Cher and Katie were shocking.
I like Mary a lot, even if she did mess up the lyrics. Storm has a great voice, and I don't usually like that kind of a singer on these shows. Some other solid overs as well, and some really bad ones.
I didn't think I would say this, but I really liked the tweeny boyband. Well, I liked that one singer, Harry, with the curly hair. He did most of the work and he did a great job. New girl group are alright. Diva Fever are funny.
So basically...

No doubt Cher will also get in because of all the hype around her despite messing up performance as well.
This really is a pathetic show, wish I didn't have to watch it.

I'm really hoping that the twist that was advertised for next week is that each judge gets one of the acts they rejected back. So that way there's hope for Gamu yet. |

Aiden, Mary and Matt were fantastic. TreyC was very good. Liked Storm and Paije too. Diva Fever was lolololol. Nearly everyone else was entertaining enough.
