Thinner was crap, The Shinning was decent, It I saw I believe by the time I was 20 or close to it, that being said, clowns now creep me out a bit, lol! If you checked out my gifs for the movies I had a theme going pretty much, after all the Pennywise gifs, I got a little freaked out and started doing comedies and Disney flicks, lol! That is one evil fucking clown! I love Tim Curry..LMAO! Also The Green Mile was great, the movie and the book.
That movie with the cat people sucked too.

Don't cha want it?
Thinner's notable, only for the fact Fat Tony off the Simpsons played the main guy.
Shawshank, The Stand, It, Carrie, Dead Zone and I don't care what you say, Tommyknockers was freaky.
Haven't ssen Dark Half, but the book was awesome. They fucked Cujo up though.

Yeah, it was in one of his short-story books, same as Stand By Me.
Fuck, I forgot to say Misery!

Stephen King is a great writer. He can write great long books like IT, or great short stories.

I read my first Stephan King Novel when I was 12.
"Christine."
I actually found that I like his movies better then books. I found his books to have to much swearing in them for my taste in reading.
Reading I prefer Dean Koontz, John Saul.

What is desperation?

Post by canedust on Apr 18, 2008 9:39:20 GMT -5
Desperation and Regulators were two books King did, one as Bachman. Same characters, and same monster, but some differences.
Desperation is set out in the desert, with a cop hunting down people. Regulators would probably never work as a movie.

I was actually gonna say what no love for mist, the cgi effects are pretty good to say the least, and bag boy norm, sheesh. Also I think it had a great group of characters, the religious bitch, the redneck hick mechanic, the other mechanic, Ollie, Ollie was just the fucking man in that movie. The movie was actually a bit gorier than expected, and that's a plus in that movie. It has a lot of messages in it, and it's awesome how a few days without phones, cops, tv's, electricity, and a shit load of monster can do to people.... both mentally and physically.

I love and have seen/read a lot of his work.
I like Children of the Corn, because the story is just so eerie and crazy, plus its one of the few I can think of where the guy doesn't die...that's not really a factor, just pointing that out. Also, I prefer the story to the movie. Although I did like:
Malaki: "C'mon! C'mon outlander! Caaaa'Mooooonnnn!"

The Shawshank Redemption The Shining Creepshow
I'd say Shawshank as the favorite, but it's pretty close.
As for Sleepwalkers, I can't watch the movie. There's something about people with feline features that really freaks me out. I doubt anyone watched it or remembered it, but there was a television series called Beauty and the Beast and I still can't even look at pictures of Vincent without being a little creeped out. It's quite stupid.
I stopped trying to read his books when I picked up Tommyknockers. I couldn't force my way through even half of it.

Anyone seen Dreamcatcher? I watched it at the cinema and would gladly have slit my throat from making me watch it all the way through. It's about the best of them, but I tend to think the ending's of these films pretty much blow. I can't say I rate him highly at all (although he really won't care as he's rich). It's like 'It' was really freaky, and then it turned into a big spider, light thing. But other moments before that like the picture of Pennywise that comes alive or the old ladies house driking tea bits are really chilling.

Ah Dreamcatcher. The retard is the prince of the alien bumgrubs, and thus only he can destroy them.
Or something. Something to do with alien bumgrubs, who came all this way just so Morgan Freeman could play a villain..

I usually find myself disappointed in the portrayal of the book, It and Dream Catcher come to mind first. But I have to say the mini series The Stand was pretty close to the book and I also thought the Green Mile was done well as well.
