Um clearly you're retarded, because that movie was awesome, and went into great detail of how michael came to be. Maybe the body count was a bit on the high side, but one of the more better remakes I've seen.

Yeah, I thought it was great how he was made to fit the profile for both a psychopath and a sociopath. By this I mean, he was made to be the way he is because both causes, external forces and his own depraved mind. I also liked how he cared for his ster, it was at least different from most movies. I hated how at times he was more of a Jason Voorhees though. Jason is a Micheal rip-off not the other way around.
The previews by the way don't show how good the acting actually is either. By the previews I thought the acting would be horendous and was pleastantly surprized at how decent it was.

I agree with the OP. What pisses me off is that Rob acts like this is a grand masterpiece when 75% of the people who saw it flat out said it sucked with valid reasoning. The backstory? Ok, that was passible. I did like how he presented that. The ending is what killed it. Why did he have to kill Myers off(Before you say he didn't, listen to the commentary. He flat out makes it clear hes dead)? The ending was not only blasphemy, but it was a complete ripoff of a horrible ending of a horrible movie called Halloween 5 that was only made to generate a horrifically low amount of money. Good job Rob, you really killed it for us all.
BTW, hes a hypocrite as well. No less then 6 months before he made this movie he went off on people remaking classic horror movies saying they don't need to be touched then he does this crap.

I thought it was meh overall. And I am a HUGE horror fan so.... yeah.
Anyway, the movie was okay to me but the ending really ruined it for me. Dragged out and cheesy.

I remember thinking as I left the cinema after watching the movie that Rob Zombie should never, ever, under any circumstances be let near a horror movie, ever again.
The back story was pathetic, the only reason why Michael Myers was scary in the original was because he DIDN'T have a cliched bad childhood, he just snapped for no reason at all, he was an unsympathetic, evil monster. We were never supposed to think:
"Awww, we can't really blame him, his mother was a prossy pole-dancer and his only male role model was a comic relief William Forsythe!"
We're supposed to be disturbed and disgusted with this individual who snapped for no bloody reason!
And they utterly raped the character of Dr. Loomis, he's supposed to be justified in thinking that Michael is pure evil, but with the new "sympathetic" back story, he just comes off as a giant prick jumping to conclusions about a poor boy who has been through a lot.
Once the killing starts it's not too bad (though the overuse of "Don't Fear the Reaper" really started to piss me off), however, quite early on, it becomes clear that Rob Zombie lacks everything that made John Carpenter a great director, everything about Zombies "Halloween" seems like a parody of Carpenter's.
And I think that fact that Zombie saw fit to cast the 6 foot 10 Tyler Mane as Michael, pretty much says all we need to know about Zombie's grasp of subtlety.
I give it 3/10.

The New Halloween shits on all the old halloweens combined that's how badly the entire Michael Myers original movie series was.
ESPECIALLY the first one, that shit couldn't even scare me when I was 10, all he did was choke people and stab one or two people I'm soooooooooo scared. And there needs to be a backstory not just simply little boy snaps after seeing sister naked and kills her. Really that's better than the NEW backstory. People just love to keep clinging onto what's left of the past.

The Jason remake is one of the better ones in that series as well.
