Johnny Darko?
Dark City is a modern classic, so just accept that.

Because T3 is a good movie. Dark City is all the bad parts in Johhny Darko and the Matrix movies put into one crappy film, ironically it came out before either of those movies. I've always thought of The Matrix as a dumbed down version of Dark City. Excepting action Dark City has it beat in every way. Oh, and it doesn't have Keanu Reeves, huge plus, though he is quite pretty.

LOL! I always hated the Matrix movies. People at as if there is something else to it besides the action.

I think you're the only other person I've come across, that wasn't utterly in love with at least the first one. The characters were terrible.

I hate most movies people claim are awesome such as Titanic (I have personal reasons for that though. lol) Monster's Ball The Terminator Training Day
I'm sure there are several others, I can't think of them though.

Standard Wachowski fan defense "Matrix doesn't have lame characters, because they're riffing on archetypes from mythology."
Clearly, that excuses crappy writing. If a movie's trying for symbolism, it can't suck.
Just ask any fan of The Prestige or M. Night. They will tell you....

I knew the Matrix sequels were gonna suck early in the second one.
When the stereotypical angry army guy is the only character with a brain, you've got problems.
"We need to EMP our own defenses." "THAT NOT BE GOOD MORPHEUS!! RAGGH!!!" "Pipe down, army guy. Morpheus should know, he led the robots down here."

After reading all that i have to say i also think the Matrix movies suck big time and i'm now nominating Jumper as one of my favourite Sci Fi's. That movie was awesome.

Does it really classify as Sci-fi? I mean most comic book movies are a lot more sci-fi orientated than this and they are classified as action primarily. Though I guess it is all a matter of opinion and I can see why this could be.
