if anyone wondered where the lyrics from my sig are from...Great Big Sea is a band from Newfoundland, that i have been listening to for years....infectious stuff.
as a side note....the lead singer of the band, Alan Doyle, is playing Allan O'Dale in the new Robin Hood movie, that will star Russell Crowe, next year..

they have some good stuff....every CD has a certain amount of traditional Newfoundland music, which even I can take only in very small doses...but there are some gems on every disc.
and, this is the lead single off their current CD
p.s. Newfies often affectionately refer to them as Dirty Big Pond....

They did a sped-up cover of REM's "It's the End of the World as We Know It," it's fun. "Play" for the most part is a great album and I happen to like the folk songs.
