The NRL will field teams comprised of the best rugby players in America, and from around the world. There are thousands of elite athletes looking to aspire to professional competition. The NRL will provide that opportunity.
The NRL will be holding nationwide tryouts in selected cities throughout Summer/Fall 2009.
Tryouts will be open to all athletes, both American and foreign.

Great news! It'll probably take 10+ years to effectively get off the ground, but could add an extra dimension of diversity to all of RL!

I was reading the "Best stars from around the world" bit, and it just comes off as if they're gonna just try and buy all the quality rather than nurture it themselves.
And they'll probably kill the speed of the game with all the ad breaks they have for everything over there.

Yeah they'll play 10 minutes of footy and then stop to advertise food for 20.
