Tobey MacGuire's signed on for both, apparently to be done back-to-back.
Also apparently, he's set to receive 50 Mil for it.

I'm really glad to hear that because from the way it looked before it seemed like the whole cast was going to get replaced. Most don't seem to like him but I thought he was a really good Parker/Spider-Man. Though I'm sure that after SM 3 alot of people are going to be skeptical.

I think 3 was just so disjointed....and the sequences with him walking down the street cockily, just didn't work. Here's hoping they can hit the stride they had in 1 and 2 again.
Some good villains wouldn't hurt, either. I'd kind of like to see The Lizard and Electro...Mysterio might be cool as well. I would say give Venom another shot, but only if they treat it seriously this time...last time out, you would think Raimi wanted the character to fail.

Raimi only put Venom in at Marvel's insistence, so you may be right.
Mysterio, only if Bruce Campbell plays him.

From what I've heard though the whole symbiote story wasn't even supposed to happen in the 3rd film, but people demanded Venom. They basically had to tell a story that they weren't ready for at the time, if at all. Also the street walking scene was pretty painful to watch and it was kind of hard not to feel embarrassed for the guy.
If they do give Venom another shot though then hopefully like you said the character will get the treatment it deserves.
As for the 4th movie I could kind of see the villain their going for being The Lizard. I remember I saw this fan made poster online that I thought would look really good for the actual movie poster, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I liked Peter as the emo ladies man... it actually went with how the symbiote was presented in the movies and how it is in the comics...WTF they wanted with Venom is beyond me, he wasn't even a good polar opposite to Peter. They should have left the characters as they are in the comics, yin and yang to one another.

Venom needed to be spaced over at least 2 movies.
The guy who plays Connors must be getting bored, waiting to be the Lizard.

Peter should have lost the suit at the end of three or the beginning of four. It should have been Peter vs Sandman and the air boarder with Sandman turning on Harry.
Venom should have been someone else, hell vin diesel would have been a better choice.
