The green light to direct "The Green Hornet" has been given to Michael Gondry -- the very eyes that have overseen such pics as: "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," "The Science of Sleep," and "Human Nature."
Gondry will direct Seth Rogen and Stephen Chow in the Columbia superhero flick, slated for a June 25, 2010 release.
With Gondry on board, it looks as if the back and forth that has "buzzed" around the film is over. George Clooney was a one-time contender for the part; and Chow, who is playing Kato, was the former director of the project. Chow stepped aside over "creative differences," according to Variety.
Rogen,a.k.a. The Green Hornet, will executive produce the film. But the Apatow fave also has a busy 2009 ahead of him. He'll hit the big screen in such films as: "Funny People," "Monsters vs. Aliens," and "Observe and Report." He was last seen in "Fanboys" this month.
"Be Kind Rewind" was Gondry's last film project. I hate Seth Rogen!

How on earth could you hate Seth Rogen?
He is the future of comedy.
