I like the White Stripes (believe me, not all of their songs) but they have a few that I like.
Jet... were they not that one (minor) hit band from about 2003?

A definite candidate. But hard to give them the title when there's bands like ABBA, Steps, S-Club 7, Busted, McFly etc.

All the white stripes songs sound the same... to me anyways.
Jet did have that one annoying ass song that still gets played!
I died a little when it was used on Alias.

Metallica arent that bad, some of there recent stuff as been pretty shit, like The Day That Never Comes, but the older stuff is great. They will never be Motorhead however, no one ever will.

Metallica (at best) doesnt suck in small doses... my roommate is a loser/tool/dork/"sconnie" which means he not only plays that shit at every opportunity, but I then have the great honor of listening to him play guitar hero: metallica as well. (and he's a dork... which means he plays that shit ALL THE GOD DAMN TIME).
I can never make fun of anyone for being a "loser" anymore... this tool just takes the nerdy cake.

Metallica is the worst?
Hardly.
Take a look at any of those rappers you're so fond of then you'll see who the worst is.

Metallica is the worst? Hardly. Metallica is not "bad" in the sense of not having talent... they lack any real diversity. All their garbage sounds the same, even when they change it up their lead singer still comes in with: "YeaaAAAaAa oooOOOooo... and Ill take what I wantAAAAA.... you will dieAAAAAA" (which always makes me laugh... but I can only take so much laughter.) Take a look at any of those rappers you're so fond of then you'll see who the worst is. I thought Id quote this individually because it was just so well said

I disagree with you on this AHTR, but, wanted to point out, "opinon's are like assholes, everyone has them." lol! I am sure you have a few bands I don't like, as same with punisher.
I like Metallica, but like LG, most of the older stuff. I don't like that they sold out, but, I still enjoy the older stuff. Much like Korn, I like their older stuff mostly, before they sold out to mainstream.

S Club 7 and Steps don't count as bands IMO (and S Club used to be my favourites ). Busted are good because they're soooo straight-camp and catchy. McFly are just a wannabe Busted...blah. Not the worst ever. Blink 182 are the worst ever.

Blink 182 are pretty bad, but I think that The Jonas Brothers are the worst band ever.
And I agree with LG, Metallica's older stuff is nothing short of amazing. "...and Justice For All" still stands today as one of my all- time favorite albums.

Worst band ever? Not at all. A band that has sold as many records as and has reached out to as many people as Metallica, no matter what your personal opinion on their music is, can't really be a candidate for worst band ever, can they? A large amount of modern day bands have been influenced by their music. I myself started playing guitar solely because of the song "Master of Puppets".
They also really do have diversity. Compare "Kill 'Em All" to "Metallica", and then compare that to "Load", and then compare that to "St. Anger", and so on.
Fair enough you don't like them, and you're sick of hearing them, but claiming a band as influential and generally huge as Metallica is the worst ever, is just going to make you look silly.

Meh, I didn't like Load but it was tons better than ReLoad and that piece of shit St.Anger
I still think Master Of Puppets is a metal landmark. As is Ride The Lightning and Kill Em All.
...And Justice For All was good, but I felt that some songs felt a little too boring and overly long just for the sake of being long.
Metallica was good too, although I REALLY hate "Enter Sandman" and "Nothing Else Matters".
Death Magnetic is a step in the right direction and took the bad taste out of mouth that St.Anger had left. There were some great songs but I didn't care for some others.

Gone are stuff that's metaphorical or well written to stupid shit like: "My lifestyle determines my deathstyle" "Fran-Tic-tic-tic-tic-tic-tic-tock" "I'm madly in anger with you" "Not only do I not know the answer I don't even know what the question is" I could go on and on and on about the lyrics, they sound like they were copied off of motivational posters in a kindergarden classroom. The drums are also awful, sounds like Lars was drumming on Folgers coffee cans. NO SOLOS! Those are what made Metallica famous, they took them off just to sound trendy and be like Nu-Metal. The songs are overlong, song's like St.Anger are more than 7 minutes long when it could've been only 3. He says the EXACT same thing over and over and it plays the exact same riff until the end. Every song is like that. Repetitive and boring. There, that's what's wrong with it lol

I respect why St. Anger happened (if you've seen Some Kind Of Monster, it helps you appreciate the mood in the Metallica camp around that time). The way I see it is that if a band writes their music based on their feelings (which is the way it should be, because music should come from inside), that music is going to reflect whatever the mood is. In St. Anger's case, Metallica were pissed off and things weren't going so well; especially for Hetfield. So naturally, an angry as fuck record was produced. That's not why I dislike it.
I dislike it because it sounds fucking shit. The drums sound like biscuit tins, the riffs sound like they just hammered out the first things that came into their heads, the vocal style that Hetfield adopts for the record sounds like he's trying to parody heavy metal bands, and so on. Like I said, I respect why the album turned like it did, but the bottom line is that I think the songs suck.
The rest of Metallica's albums I like to a degree. Master of Puppets is my favourite, although Ride the Lightning features my favourite Metallica song. Kill 'Em All is awesome. The self-titled is pretty good for what it is. It isn't in the same league as say Master of Puppets, but it has some decent songs. I love Nothing Else Matters, and although Enter Sandman has become ridiculously over-done, I still love that riff and the song in general is cool. ...And Justice For All is pretty good. One is a masterpiece and then songs like Eye Of The Beholder is awesome. Although this album is the first album where, in my opinion, Metallica started relying on filler tracks. Load I think is cool because it takes a different direction. ReLoad is alright. Not brilliant but Fuel, The Memory Remains and The Unforgiven II are all brilliant songs. Death Magnetic I think is great. 'Tallica fans missed the thrashy riffs and solos, which were brought back with this album. It took me a while to get into it because it was new and I wasn't used to the songs, but now I think it's great. Although at the moment I bear a grudge against All Nightmare Long because it was the first song to give me trouble at Expert level on Guitar Hero: Metallica, lulz.

I have watched SKOM, I own it on DVD. It made me hate Lars as a person lol, him and James just pointlessly argued about stupid shit. James had a tough time though due to trying to be sober and I know that's hard. Yeah, James sounded like he had a cold on St.Anger. Death Magnetic is one of my favorites, I like it more than Metallica, which I also liked but it had some dumb songs. AJFA is great no doubt, but it gets boring and dull after about the 5th song because they go on and on and on.
