My personal favorite member of the Manson Family, Susan Atkins, was denied release from prison yesterday after a motion was filed on her behalf asking to let her live out her final days at home. The sixty year old is currently dying from brain cancer.
According to The Associated Press, the court room was packed with many of the victims’ surviving family members, as well as a few Atkins supporters. I’ve long assumed no one involved in the brutal Sharon Tate killings would ever step foot outside jail again, and today’s decision only reinforced that theory. If the parole board is unwilling to free an elderly woman who couldn’t possibly be a danger to society, Tex Watson and Charles Manson have a snowball’s chance of hell of leniency.
Atkins is probably most famous as the family member who fatally stabbed Sharon Tate before drinking her blood and writing “pig” on the door. She later claimed LSD was responsible, but pointing the finger at drugs and alcohol has never gotten anyone anywhere. good, anyone who drinks another persons blood after killing them, should stay locked up...
