A great achievement yes but I think they have forgotten the context in which this mission was done. While trying to hype this a the greatest thing ever done ever in the history of man kind and as a great triumph of the human spirit etc etc blah blah blah
It was during the Cold War and the US was trying to show it had the bigger willy after missing out on two major milestone in the space race so they had to beat those commie ruskies at something.
