Early reports coming in that Callum Davenport (Of West Ham United) was stabbed in the legs in his home and apparnetly they stabbed his mother too!
He's been in surgery all morning (With some people reporting that he died briefly during surgery). I'll post a link when it becomes available, most of the reports coming on TV with nothing being put up on the websites as of yet.
Horrible news, hope he's OK, but this could very well be the end of his career.

Pretty crazy stuff. I haven't read up on the news but have they revealed what the motive was? If it has anything to do with rival fans then it makes you think twice about being a professional footballer...

No, no motive as of yet, but a 25 year old and a 19 year old man have been arrested with an attempted murder charge, but nothing much else has come out due to ongoing investigations.
The rumour is though, that he told Zola he didn't want to play for him anymore and that it was some West Ham fans who carried out the attacks. (That is just rumour though)

That actually wouldn't surprise me. Some football fans can be insanely bitter if a player wants to leave the club. I remember when Rio Ferdinand's future was unsure. In his book he says that a load of United fans turned up outside his house and he came out and spoke to them. He could be bullshitting, but that's how some fans are.
Well, if it is West Ham fans, they've done themselves a thick'un there. Whether Davenport wanted to stay at Upton Park or not, he's definitely not playing for a while now!
