This isn't a horror film, more like a psychological thriller, more bone chilling creepy than scary. It gives off this vibe, a vibe I've never felt from a movie before. I had goosebumps and paranoia hours after watching it.
This movie is based on a true story (Yes. It's not a bullshit marketing ploy), based in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. This was when some strange shit was going on such as dogs being mutilated, UFOs, men in black, and of course, a large creature bigger than the size of a man with 2 large, red glowing eyes. When the Silver Bridge collapsed, none of these things were ever seen in the area again.
Richard Gere and Will Patton own this movie. It's a must see. Very underrated.
Here's a scene from the movie

Pretty good little movie actually one of my favorite's
Wish they'd stuck to more the original reports but since it's Hollywood know that ain't gonna happen
Now here's a little side note
I was talking to Joe Clark who runs Commonwelth Paranormal 'bout a week go and he told me something interesting.
He took a little vacation to Point Pleasant back in July and talked to some folks and supposedly Mothman has been spotted again in the area and seems like he just missed it by couple days.
I done a little follow up (because more or less I'm not to big on some crytids and Mothman is one of'em) so I called up a girl I know over in West Virgina that runs Huntington Paranormal Investigators and Research and yeah it's true there's been some more sightings.
Don't know if you all have heard it or not but supposedly there was sightings of Mothman couple days before 9/11 in New York 'round the Twin Towers
