Anne Rice has forever ruined the vampire genre for all eternity. The only thing that has been slightly redeemable were the Blade movies and even then they were a bit hit or miss.

I watched it once, but I didn't like it. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't something I enjoyed watching.

I tried watching it, but I couldn't really get into it. Which is kind of surprising, because vampires and Anna Paquin are relative to my interests.

I gave the first season a go, but I couldn't really get into True Blood. None of the actors really entice me. Then again, I'm not much of a vampire-enthusiast. However, one program I had no trouble getting into is Vampire Diaries. Ian Somerhalder is just so dreamy. He can make even the most daft storylines seem worth watching. Once you get past the piercing eyes and that devious smile, you may come to find that the premise really isn't all that bad.

I'm almost tempted to give Vampire Diaries a shot. I could use a new show, and you make it sound entertaining at least. Gossip Girl or Vampire Diaries? I'll have to weigh the pros and cons of each.

Personally, I would suggest the first season of Gossip Girl. I feel it would be more relative to your interest. Unless you have a particular harking for Ian Somerhalder like I do, I can see Vampire Diaries seeming a bit of a drag.
