They should just drop all the pussy padding and then maybe the rest of the world will take Gridiron seriously as a football code.

A large portion of the sport appears to be running into each other so that would be the reason for the armour in the first place but there is a point that maybe they wouldn't be so intent on running into each other if they didn't have all their padding to supposedly keep them safe.

the sport already is pointless. as long as it remains violent it will never be pointless. It could never reach the level of random violence that T1 achieved!

Oh you mean ballet of the field? I'm surprised the prima donnas that play the game don't wear tutus given that they like to prance about and the theatrics involved when they take the slightest bump

Try the fact that it's a well-known fact that multiple concussions lead to early on-set Alheimers. There's a fine line between toughness and pure stupidity. Sorry, to run full speed into tackles with out a helmet is just dumb. No way around that. You are just an idiot if you do that. Those pads don't make the tackles like landing on foom-padding either. Take it from someone that played 4 year in high school as well as 4 years of lacrosse and wrestling.

Rugby League and Rugby union players can take those massive hits with out all the bullcrap padding and helmets. Sure it does take a toll on them and they can be injured but they man up and do it anyway.

And still remain friendly towards each other without all this pathetic mocking and grudges you often see/hear about in gridiron.

Sure it does take a toll on them and they can be injured but they man up and do it anyway. I'll take a somewhat fully functional brain and longevity in the sport if it means I get called a pussy. One of the kids in my neighborhood growing up used to make fun of kids that wore helmets when riding bicycles. You know what? One day, this "manly" man went out riding down a steep hill, hit a rock, flipped over his bars and split his head open on the pavement. This now 22 year old has the brain function of an 8 year old, lives with his parents, who will most likely take care of him for the rest of his life. But of course, it's being "manly" that counts.... You see, people don't wear protective gear because "OWY! That hurts!". No, it's more like they don't want to be a vegetable come retirement. Many things heal in the body, but the brain is not one of them. Live life wisely.

You act a little more different, a little more cutthrought on the field than you would in real life, especially when the stakes(your pay/job) are so high. It's not like you see these guys getting in brawls with each other off the field. Most of them have a mutal respect for one another, it's just a few bad eggs that don't.
