It's official my xbox is dead. Went to to 2 different Microsoft sub contracters and then microsoft itself and all gave the exact same response. Console is dead and no one knew how to fix it or had seen anything like it before.
Now I have to pay $30 to have my hard drive memory card and controller returned.

They only jerked you around for 5 weeks and then said they couldn't do anything? Wow guess they have lifted their game
On the plus side if you have to get a new machine there are some decent game bundles around

Why did they take your controller? Surely they could have had a million others around that they could have used.

Probably just to rule out it being a problem with the controller or the harddrive Who knows why microsoft does the things that it does

You should try spraying dust off in the back worked for me two times despite after explaining my problem to xbox people they said the only way they could fix it was if I paid them 112 dollars. I took the chance with dust off and it worked nicely.

Well I'm glad I followed the instructions to essentially remove anything that was detachable from the 360 as OzPost appears to have sent the console on a mysterious voyage that Microsoft can absolve itself of all responsibility.
