You were forced to do in PE when you were at school? That badminton thread on RIW reminded me just how much I hated that game. One time we got it for 6 goddam months straight through the autumn/winter months. It was brutal. The only thing I hated as much as that was hockey…just coma inducingly boring. Most of the other sports were awesome though. ;D Football, swimming, basketball etc. I even loved athletics, which most people hated for some reason.

I never liked PE once Middle School hit.
Unfortunately for me, I kept taking it until I was a Junior. My Sophomore year I was in weight lifting, which sucked because it was still mostly gym activities, but still a fun class, and a year later I got to do it again when I went to an Alternative school.
Always hated Big Base that year. Could never seem to catch that damn ball. And I broke some bones during a game, so got to sit out during Volleyball, and the other crap near the end of it.
I could have have took it until I graduated, but needed other credits.

PE was only mandatory at my school for the first 2 years. After that it was optional, I chose it as one of my 6 subjects and usually had 2 classes of it per day. It was awesome when you had something you liked obviously, but when you had 3 hours of hockey/volleyball or some shit like that first thing on a Monday morning it was tantamount to torture. My school also had the strange policy of scrapping PE for a month at Christmas time each year and making everyone take dance class in it‘s place. It would basically amount to an hour of the guys fighting amongst themselves to see who got to dance with the hot girls. It was like that South Park episode with Stan and Kyle acting like gorillas around Wendy and the other girls.

I loved playing Football and Basketball but everything else could fuck off. I nearly lost my vision once when some dumbass decided to hit me in the eye with a rugby ball on purpose. Then as I was rubbing my eye (with the ball in my hand that I managed to snatch) I turned around as was tackled the hardest I was ever tackled.

Now I remember. That episode was awesome! I forgot all about rugby. I hated that also. I just never saw the appeal. On a related note, I never realized how fit doing all that shit kept me. I still consider myself to be fit, like I usually walk the mile and a half to work most mornings unless it's raining like hell, but sometime last year I was playing football in the park with my friends for the first time in ages and I was fucking gasping for breath after half an hour lol. That never used to happen, I hope it's not just age catching up to me.

Volleyball could be cool if your teammates actually did something. I was annoyed by the people who wouldn't try, but stand there when it came near them. Even if someone's on it it's always best to go for it in case they miss. I was one of those guys sometimes, but it can be fun when you put some effort into it (and the other team sucks). How did your school play Hockey? My Senior year I liked those, Basketball (hated 21, and Around the world, but i was good at it at one time), Soccer (In the gym, unless it's a nice day out leave the fields to games out of class), and Locker room Kickboxing. Just kidding about that last one.

Movies don't lie. Dodgeball was the worst. Since I was the most hated kid in middle school, I was afraid to hit others, and I would always get hit first.

Kickball. I hated that game. Just because you're using your foot instead of swinging a bat doesn't make it anymore interesting.
I've always been really bad at team sports and contact sports. Soccer for instance, as soon as someone accidentally kicks me in the shin my focus is turned to returning the favor. Basketball, I use my elbows a lot and I managed to get in a fist fight with my best-friend because I elbowed her in the face. Possibly on purpose. Then there's field hockey, really they shouldn't give me something that's perfect for hooking peoples ankles.
Volleyball was good, though.

Just like a game of Monopoly its always setting you up for some drama I don't even get why schools, especially middle school, does it. It's obvious a great way at bulling physically and not get caught (since that's how you play the game). They didn't do dodgeball in high school as I remember though. Guess they were smarter.

Did any of you ever have to play that game where they'd give everyone a tennis ball and line you all up in front a bench, the aim is to throw the ball against the edge of the bench so it bounces back and then try and catch it. I remember doing that for a full hour and a half like 2 years ago. Most boring hour and a half of P.E ever. And the only rugby we ever got to do was tag rugby, Wtf? Dodgeball was my favourite by far, especially playing it 30 on 30 on the basketball courts in the pouring rain. Speaking of which I loved basketball aswell, because I'm so tall i was pretty good at it.

Dodgeball was awesome! But we only ever done it for 10 minutes or so at the beginning of class to warm up. How did your school play Hockey? It was supposed to be field hockey, but this is Scotland, so 90% of the time the weather was so bad that we couldn’t go outside and we would end up playing this lame indoor version of it…

One pitch wiffle ball I fucking hated it. ONE PITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great I miss I have to wait like 3 more innings to miss again.
Dodgeball just oozed of awesomeness. We had something called manor ball. It was dodgeball with six bowling pins, foam balls and bouncy red balls (oh yes people used to hurtle those bastards at people.) There were two ways of winning, everyone on one team is hit out, or all the pins on one team is knocked down. Throwing a foam ball into the hoop brought back 1-10 people depending on where it was thrown, because as the game progressed the teams were allowed to go into a little bit of one another's side it was a lot of fun.
Pillow polo was beast I used to scare kids during that game.

I remember the big stink about it....I looked at it as just another right of passage with school, one that came with being slammed into lockers, tripped in the halls and books knocked out of your hands though, at least it wasn't as bad as some had it, I remember a kid who got dumped into the garbage cans all the time....
