The fate of Smallville's has finally been decided: Its 10th season will be its last.

The long-running superhero series will come to a close following its upcoming season this fall, the CW said Wednesday.

Actor Tom Welling, who plays Clark Kent, spilled the news to HollywoodLife.com on Wednesday, the day before the network's upfront presentation featuring its new slate of programming.
On Tuesday, the CW renewed bubble shows One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected for next season, and also picked up the new series Nikita and Hellcats. The network also canceled Melrose Place.
