Now Emma Roberts is stepping up to star in "Scream 4" and the 19-year-old couldn't be more thrilled. “I’m so excited to be part of this ground-breaking franchise,” Roberts told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s the perfect opportunity for me to do something completely different than I’ve ever done before.” Hayden Panettiere ("Heroes"), Ashley Greene ("Twilight"), and Rory Culkin will also join series regulars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette in the film. Actually shaping up to be a good cast. I'm pretty excited for this. I don't see how it could be bad with Craven and Williamson at the helm.

I see they're already going against what the 1st film was about. Casting semi-popular names in this MTV-esque remake. This is gonna suck. One thing that made the first film good was that outside of Drew Barrymore (who everyone thought was the star, already proof that their not going to pull this off now), and arguably Courtney Cox, everyone in the film wasn't a star, or wasn't famous until after it was released.
Has anyone seen Hayden Panettiere act? She's so Disney like, casting her in this is, a horror film is already a big mistake. They might as well hire Ashley Tisdale now.

Casting names people know is a guarantee that some people will still watch it. Emma Roberts isn't that bad of an actress. I mean I've only seen her in a few things, but she wasn't hard to watch. Besides, when it comes to horror films, what's considered good? It's all been done before. And I'm sure this film will be ten times better than like eighty percent of the crap that's put out there. It might not be good, but it'll definitely be easier to watch. |

First of all, this isn't a remake, its a sequel. One that's being made by the same guys who were behind the first two. Not to mention Neve Campbell, Rose McGowan, Courtney Cox, David Arquette and Matthew Lillard were all "semi-popular names" when they were cast in the first Scream. So, I'm not too sure how they're going against what the first film was "all about."  |
