And wow, it's really awesome so far. I think I could be the next breakthrough teen author.
Not to sound arrogant or anything.

I've been working on two books recently and they both started off really good but now I'm halfway through one of them you can really see what influenced me which isn't good at all... But I shall continue with both and hopefully they'll be as good as I want them to be.
What's your book about?

I have started about 30 books and 4 or 5 are about half way finished before I stopped due to boredom . . . I'll finish one eventually.

Erm, it's about how straying from convention will ultimately lead to a realisation that the past is inescapable.
Oh, and I'm going to centre one of my themes around this Brideshead Revisited quote: "To know and love one other human being is the root of all wisdom." I'm in a Brideshead-ish kinda mood.
It's not going to be nearly as pretentious and forced though, hopefully, and I doubt I'll stick to those themes. =)
What about y'all?

Both of mine are similar and you can tell what I've been inspired by off the bat.
The first one is called "Ghost Machine" and it's about a professional wrestler who is putting off retirement that is brutally murdered by a group of other wrestler pissed off that he's still taking the spotlight. He returns from the dead a year later to bump them off one by one eventually leading to a retirement match that puts his soul at rest. It's set around the fictional Hazard Zone Wrestling.
The second is called "Piledriver" and yep you guessed it, it's about wrestling... again. The world champion in the fictional New World Wrestling is put into a coma by a botched piledriver. He awakes to find himself in 1985, the night of WrestleMania 1. He has to find a way back or he'll be stuck there forever... I've already written the ending and it's one hell of a twist ;D

One of mine is a satire of Christianity and its beliefs. It centres around the fictional church of Servology, worshippers of the serpent God Servos. Basically right the way through the actions of my characters mock the illogical nature of Christian ideology and the unending corruption and abuse of power found in the clergy. It's gonna piss everybody off! Fun!
