- June 3rd is a big day for the future of Mixed Martial Arts in New York State. On that date, the New York State Assembly’s Committee on Tourism, Parks, Arts and Sports will vote on bill 2009-B, which seeks to sanction and regulate live MMA events. Bill 2009-B needs 11 votes (out of 21 committee members) to pass out of committee. From there, it goes to the Codes Committee, followed by the Ways and Means Committee. If the bill passes votes in each committee, it then heads to the Assembly floor for a general vote. www.rajah.com/base/node/16104

The vote should pass. If people really took a look at it, there are far less injuries both short term and long term in MMA than boxing and that has been sanctioned in New York since the beginning.
