Ha. I just had a midterm in my cinema history class and Battleship Potemkin was one of the films I had to write about.
Metropolis is all kinds of awesome as is Lang in general. On the same note he didn't direct it, but had a hand in The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari which if you haven't seen is totally awesome too.

Yeah Lang is just unreal, I watched M a few days ago in my european cinema class and I was shocked at how good it actually was. They say its one of the best ever and i was naturally skeptical but M completely blew my mind. Have you done anything else on Eisenstein? Watched Strike a while back, really really insane, but it's impossibly fantastic. If he has actually bested it with Battleship Potempkin then I'm not gonna deprive myself of that anymore.
