I think when a movie is being sold for $5 down it is a really good sign not to buy it. I think The Hill's and Natinal Lampoons Adam & Eve are really good examples for this.

Well it really does depend on how old the movie is, any movie less than 10 years old cheaper than $10 is not worth buying.
It would be very hard to find a movie that sucks more than T1, ignoring the effects which should suck anyway given when it came out, I usually only see films with character development and logic that horrible in made for tv movies. Most made for tv movies don't have as many plot holes either. If I wanted just a bunch of Random violance I'd play video games and that is all that film has to offer.

Wait. so they made Species 3 and Lake Placid 2? That's what happens when people are only in the movie business as a tax dodge.
bbsy, move along. You didn't 'get' The Terminator, go watch something you will. Like Delta Force 2.

You didn't 'get' The Terminator, go watch something you will. Like Delta Force 2. Species 3 and LP2 where on sci-fi channel, yet another reason to hate that damn station. Dust, you say that as if there is something to get, it's funny that you have no real rebuttal, being as I'm such a nice guy, I will let you step away from this argument with your tail tucked between your legs.

What argument? I'm just insulting your senseless hatred of The Terminator.
Your main point seems to be 'even for 1984, the effects suck!'
A. It was a low-budget movie. B. Let's just compare it to 1984's other big effects films, The Last Starfighter and Gremlins.
No question about which one holds up better today.
Don't argue. Maintain your credibility.

I cannot believe you're suggesting The Gremlins isn't still awesome.
Bargain bin movies are sometimes fun, but there is trauma to be had as well. For instance, Santa Claus vs The Martians, one dollar, loads of fun. Then there's Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys, it was less than three bucks and I still felt completely ripped off. Damn that Corey Feldman.

Who fuckin' slagged on Gremlins? Gremlins rocks!!!
'dust, pick on Gremlins again, and I'd say YOU should be denied food after midnight...and before.

So, again, if T1 was so good, then what exactly was good about it? You say I didn't understand it, I'll grant you that I didn't get a few things such as: 1. How a muscuilar 6'3 guy can wear clothes worn by scrawny 5'8 men...if they are even that tall 2. How a robot that should be able to fit in with people sticks out like a sorethumb. 3. Why he wasted time and effort in not killing the boyfriend when the bf was an obstacle in his way after he snook into the building. 4. The Terminator sneaks into an apartment late at night when people would not even be there or more likely asleep, yet he goes into a police station guns blazing when his target was sound asleep until he ran a car into the building and started shooting people. 5. She wakes up while in a back room, but a cop in the next room can't hear the guns going off? Or did he expect that a clipbord made for a good weapon? 6. In broad day light he shoots a gunstore owner and hot wires a car (by ripping out the ignition) after smashing the windsheild with his bare fist. He also kills one of his victims in broad day light as well. How can anyone take this film seriously?

The same way you take any film seriously.
You can find the same number of holes in the first 20 minutes of T2. Most notabely the fact both Terminators know which dingy mall to cruise to find young boys.

I'm all for letting things slide if it's important to the movie like robots going back in time, T1 has problems exceeding simple errors are do both sequals, the first just has a lot more. As far as both robots going to the same mall, it's the only mall in the area and the T-1000 was told to go there and T-800 followed John. In other words you just picked a random scene with no real errors in it. If you wanted to criticize something in T2 why not T-1000 killing and turning into the guard for no reason since he didn't even use the disguise as the fact he is dressed like a cop is enough to get around the place.

Out of curiosity, you do understand that saying I like T3 over T1 in no way means that I think it's a good movie right? If I said I prefered Dracula to Hitler, would you think I thought Dracula was a good person?

Only one mall in L.A? And all the robots know it?
If you go back and notice I'm implying they're paedophiles, you'll see how devoted I am to the argument.
