Awww shit! I'm all about the 90's. Basically everything the 90s touched turned to gold. 90210, Clueless, Daria, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, the Attitude Era, Power Rangers, Goosebumps books, you loved every song on the radio. That was just the best time ever to be a kid.

Aww, thanks Tarry. This is already the best post ever!
90's television was the best. I was obsessed with the Power Rangers. Ah, so much to love about the 90s, I don't even know where to start.
I suppose... what 90s thread would be complete without this epic gem:

Even if I get married, have a dozen kids, become a millionaire and whatever the hell else, I’ll still always look back on the 90’s as being awesome. From my little sister being born, random stuff at school, first crush/kiss etc, just a bunch of awesome childhood memories. So many awesome bands were at their peak (Soundgarden, Radiohead, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Oasis etc). Some might say the 80’s, but I think hip-hop was it it’s best in the 90’s, especially the early-mid part of the decade. 90’s movies were great. Too many to list, there’s Terminator 2, Fight Club & Scream to start with. Videogames were much more fun (Twisted Metal 2, Die Hard Trilogy, Metal Gear Solid, Tomb Raider, Grand Theft Auto etc). Awesome kids shows like Kenan & Kel, Goosebumps, Power Rangers etc. Britney Spears...As a 10 year old in 98 when she first came out with that video…yeah, it was crazy how popular she was. So no matter how crazy she gets, I’ll always have a soft spot for her and hope to see her do well. Hell, even the stuff I didn’t like still brings back good memories because it reminds me of that time. I’m talking about stuff like the Spice Girls and that damn Barbie Girl song. Also, remember that crazy Blue Da Ba Dee song? Or whatever the hell it was called lol. There was a bunch of crazy fads. I can’t even begin to think of them all. Cyber Pets were awesome though lol. This was just a Scottish thing, but when Scotland qualified for the World Cup in 98 for some reason there was this huge deal were everyone dyed their hair blonde for the summer, I‘ve no idea what the meaning behind it was. It was like a scene from Village of the Damned. TV shows were probably better than they are now (The Simpsons when it was great, Seinfeld, South Park, Buffy etc). Not that it wasn’t around obviously, but I was just too young and therefore oblivious to worry about terrorism, recession or any other stressful shit like that. Seriously, I could write a damn 15,000 word essay (if this isn't already ;D)on how awesome the 90’s were. But then, I already did that as an assignment in Communications class back at College. ;D Damn. I feel like I’ve officially crossed the line into being “old” with this post.

I honestly agree with everything you said there, Burke. I wish "I Love the 1990s" would air on Vh1 soon. I know that countdown usually makes a frequent rotation, but I've really felt like watching it again lately. I love Part Deux, lol. I love being reminded of some of the more awesome aspects of the decade that I tend to overlook or forget. Speaking of trends... Tamagotchi! I still own one, but I forget to feed it.

Oh my God, I thought about the Blue song earlier today, lol. I too agree with everything you said. So spot on. I think the biggest thing is that it was just such a care free time.

I had a dinosaur tamagotchi and I didn't fuck with mine for like a month, but then I opened it and he was full grown and standing in piles and piles of shit. I remember saying "God damn!" and getting in trouble lol. But if we're gonna talk about electronic games in the 90s, gotta give a shout out to Pokemon.

Pokemon was like the one craze that I never got into. People would be swapping these cards with each other at break every day and I'd be like...hurry the hell up, this is boring, let's go play football or something lol.
My tamagotchi also suffered more than the occasional untimely demise.

Lmao, I think that may be a sign that parenthood may not be in our future, B.
I never understood the Pokemon cards thing either. My cousin had a bunch of them that he used to give me, but I had no use for them. The Gameboy games on the other hand... that was my thing. I loved the first generation of Digimon... just putting that out there.

Saved By The Bell is another 90's staple I forgot to mention. It's a shame none of them went on to have much of a career apart from annoying ass Slater. Unless you count Screech and his sex tape exploits of course.

I love Saved By The Bell! I still watch it if I stay up/wake up early enough. "I'm so excited! I'm so excited! I'm so...scared!"

I think Zack when onto do some tv work, I don't know...
Well, I just wiki'd him and apparently he's been on NYPD Blue and Raising the Bar. I don't watch those shows, but I don't like his long hair. He was definitely a cutie when he was younger, though.
I'll just take this opportunity to namedrop some more shows: Living Single, In Living Color, Martin, Wayans Bros, Moesha, Family Matters, the 1990s edition of Soul Train... lol

Well, I loved the original Saved By The Bell. All those "reunion" relaunches and stuff can go F themselves, to put it bluntly. ;D

Unless you count Screech and his sex tape exploits of course. The guy who played Zack went on to NYPD Blue, Tiffany Amber whats her chops has been in a few things but I think the most famous kid from that lot was Liz Burkely as its kind of hard to forget the horror that was Showgirls

Elizabeth Burkley really went on to become a hottie, didn't she?
I didn't like Tiffani Amber Thiessenon on 90210 though. Up in the Walsh's house smoking weed and shit. Scandalous, lol

Elizabeth Burkley was also in the last season of The L Word. So, I think it's safe to say she's been doing pretty well for herself. ;D

Tiffany Amber Thiessen (sp) was probably the first person, on television or otherwise, I ever had a crush on. I'm sure she'd be grateful if I ever had the opportunity to tell her that.

I wonder if in 10 years time this board will still be around with a bunch of people talking about how great Lady Gaga, Avatar, Family Guy, Lil Wayne etc were back in the day. The thought of that makes me want to be sick honestly. The 90's will always be where it's at.

Yeah, but the thing is we're kinda already in a new decade, and I don't usually hear much about how awesome 2000-2010 is. Which is why I thought Vh1's "I Love the New Millennium" was a flop. A ton of that stuff felt like it just happened. I do think this generation deserves something to be nostalgic about... too bad we make it so damn hard for ourselves.

Elizabeth Burkley was also in the last season of The L Word. So, I think it's safe to say she's been doing pretty well for herself. ;D Depends how many expensive habits she has/had. Falling into the trap of doing something overly risque to shake your child star status has claimed more than one actress. Being on a TV show for season doesn't mean you're going to be rolling in money. Considering what Lucy Lawless and Kevin Sorbo had to go through after executives tried to claim that Xena and Hercules really weren't all that profitable in the 7 or so years they were on TV. The recent writer's strike was also the result of the fuzzy math studio's like to employ.

Yeah, it was a dating show on MTV and she was the host. Back when MTV was even more mindless than it is now, lol.
We should totally have a 90s themed house party where we all wear animal print and neon colors.
